My Power Windows Are Really Slow

If your power windows are really slow, your vehicle probably has an electrical problem. Any time the power accessories do not get enough electricity, they slow down. Certain accessories, such as your entertainment and navigation systems, can start to malfunction. Do not worry. We can inspect your electrical system to find out why it is failing to produce enough power.

Dim or Flickering Lights

Another sign that it is failing to produce enough power is dim or flickering lights. This includes all of your vehicle’s lights. This being said, the most obvious may be the headlights because you will find it hard to see when you are driving at night. An electrical system problem does not just have to be an inability to produce enough power. Your lights will be too bright if the electrical system is producing too much power.

Battery Problems

You can also run into battery problems if the electrical system is malfunctioning. For example, there may be something in your automobile that is draining the battery of its charge. Consequently, you have to jump-start the battery frequently in order to get your automobile started. If you are having difficulty starting your automobile, bring it to our shop so we can resolve the issue.

Burning Electricity

We mentioned above that the lights will be too bright if the electrical system is producing too much power. In addition to the bright lights, you may also smell burning electricity in the engine or somewhere in your automobile. This is a sign that the electrical system is being overloaded. The most common reason why this happens is a faulty alternator that produces too much power.

Blown Fuses

As the electrical system overheats, it may also send surges throughout the system. This can blow various fuses in the fuse box. It is rare to have to change a fuse in your automobile. If you find that you are changing the fuses often, your automobile has an electrical problem.

Battery Light

Your vehicle may warn you of the problem. The engine control unit may turn on the battery light to let you know the electrical system is failing. It may seem as if the battery light would only cover the battery, but it also covers the electrical system and the alternator.

Give us a call today if you are having electrical problems with your vehicle. We will inspect the system and let you know what it will take to repair the problem.
